Wednesday, August 29, 2007 Tom Brady’s New Son a JET Fan?
Just last week, Bridget Moynahan and Tom Brady celebrated the birth of their son and have now publicly revealed the name of the baby boy, John Edward Thomas Moynahan. While the combination is certainly a mouthful, the immediate media focus revolved around a “hidden meaning” in the name.
For an industry that loves to look at statistics and acronyms, it should come as no surprise that sports commentators were quick to see the humor in the story. The punch line for the joke is that Brady is the star quarterback for the New England Patriots, one of their chief rivals is the New York Jets, and his new son’s initials spell JET.
During the same media announcement, Bridget Moynahan’s publicist Gary Mantoosh told everyone that Tom had been able to arrive in time for the birth of his son, and “Bridget is very thankful for a happy baby, excited about being a mother and very pleased that the father, Tom Brady, was able to be there for the birth”. It looks like Tom is responding well to the pressure of becoming a new dad while also starting a new NFL season as the quarterback for one of the favored Super bowl teams. Trying to adapt to the birth of a new child is always difficult, and with the added stress of Tom’s job, it’ll be interesting to watch how he handles the challenges associated with fatherhood.
