Sunday, June 03, 2007 The Beckhams’ Knighthood Bid
Victoria Beckham is ecstatic about the prospects of becoming a whole lot posher. The former Spice Girl could become ‘Lady Victoria’, after it was reported this past week that her soccer star husband David Beckham’s name is being considered for knighthood. Apparently, Becks name is among those currently being scrutinized by Whitehall for both Tony Blair’s Resignation Honors list and the Queen’s annual Birthday Honors. Whether or not David’s name will make the final cut is still up in the air, but his chances are said to be high. The honor would certainly be reflective of his much-appreciated work for charity and role in bringing the 2012 Olympics to London. Whatever the case may be, it was back to the field for Becks, who made his England squad comeback, rejoining his team to play against Brazil. Victoria even halted filming of her LA reality show to support him. A Hello! magazine source said, “She was in tears when she heard he’d been recalled to the England squad, as she knew that was his ultimate dream. There’s no way she’d have sacrificed being there to spur him on against Brazil… just to do a TV show - regardless of how much it would help her career in the US.” Filming for the show will continue this month, but its questionable whether or not it’ll be ready in time for its planned fall slot. “The schedule was incredibly tight, and it’s up to the network what happens next,” said Victoria’s spokeswoman on Thursday. Already back in the States to appear at tonight’s (June 3) MTV Movie Awards, enjoy the pictures of Victoria in LA on June 2.
