Teri Hatcher’s Incarcerated Uncle Dies
In the last page of a painful chapter in her life, Teri Hatcher’s uncle- the one she put behind bars for molestation- has died at 70 years old.
Six years into his 14-year sentence at Chuckawalla Valley State Prison in Blythe, California, Richard Hayes Stone succumbed to colon cancer this past Tuesday, August 19th.
Stone was imprisoned for molesting his niece, actress Teri Hatcher, as well as two other young girls back in the late 1960s and early 1970s. One of the girls later shot herself in the head back in 2002.
Hatcher told press, “It’s time for me to stop hiding. That’s a victim thing; you ask yourself, ‘Am I just crazy? Did I make all this up?’ Somehow it might be easier to accept that you’re crazy and made it all up than to admit that it happened, and how awful it was.”
District attorney Chuck Gillingham told press, “It closes the book on a very, very sad tragedy. Unfortunately, those who are still alive will always suffer from his actions.”
