Taylor Lautner Signs on for “New Moon”
With the amazing success of last year’s “Twilight,” the sequel “New Moon” is already one of the most hotly anticipated films of 2009. And Taylor Lautner recently announced that he’s on board for the sequel.
Author Stephenie Meyer posted on her website, “I’m very happy to announce that Taylor Lautner will be playing Jacob Black in New Moon and that he’s doing so with the enthusiastic support of Summit Entertainment, the producers, and Stephenie Meyer.”
She added, “I’m truly thrilled that Taylor was the one who proved to the director, to Summit, and to me that he is the best possible Jacob we could have. And I’m very much looking forward to seeing what he’s going to bring to Jacob’s character this year.”
There was initial pessimism about Taylor returning as Jacob Black in the sequel because his character is totally different- Black is a foot taller and 25 years old in “New Moon,” but Taylor is apparently up to the challenge.
