Sopranos Swan Song
Grab a tissue… the long running HBO original series “The Sopranos” is over. While they will always live on in our hearts (and on store racks as DVD series), organized crime’s favorite TV outlet is no more.
“I think it’s a great ending. It’s a good way to go out,” said Michael Imperioli, who played Tony’s nephew, until he was murdered this season.
"We’re all heartbroken. We could go on forever. Me and Edie Falco wanna die on the set,” Tony Sirico said at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The final episode was celebrated with the entire cast of the show, meeting up in Florida for the red carpet event.
As it turned out, the final episode left some fans and critics a bit disappointed, being that they didn’t actually show Tony getting killed. There was plenty of build up and the ending was all but obvious. However, some wanted to see a bloodbath.
Was James Gandolfini one of those people? He was quiet at the Hard Rock, keeping to himself his thoughts on the final episode, while his fellow cast members gushed about how great it was. Instead, Gandolfini stood and waved, sporting a beard and sunglasses.
While we mourn the loss of such a great show, we can always anticipate the upcoming DVD release (maybe with new footage?) and hope for a movie. Cheers!
