Simon Cowell: “Thrilled to Bits” for Susan Boyle
Britain’s Got Talent launched a sensation in Susan Boyle, and Simon Cowell is “thrilled to bits.”
“She was sitting home a few weeks ago, all alone with her cat, and no one’s ever heard of her, apart from six people,” told Cowell.
Continuing on, he said, “And now you’ve got 150 million people daily talking about her in America, and people camped outside her house..That’s incredible, it’s just the most wonderful story.”
Boyle was a 47-year-old who shocked and amazed the judges, Cowell and Piers Morgan, while she performed the song “I Dreamed a Dream” on BGT.
The audience originally did not see much out of Boyle, but as soon as she opened up her mouth to sing, she left people speechless after finishing. The performance has made the clip on YouTube a huge hit.
“It’s one of the best pieces of TV I’ve ever seen in my life,” Simon added. “And that’s why I love making these shows — something completely unexpected, something you couldn’t predict. You can’t plan for it. I’m thrilled to bits for her.”
