Shia LaBeouf Accident/Arrest Update
After a big night out at the West Hollywood hotspot Troubadour Club, Transformer’s star Shia LaBeouf was arrested for a DUI early Sunday morning (July 27). LaBeouf’s 23-year-old Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas was also in his truck when the accident occurred, sources have recently revealed to press.
Ironically enough, before his weekend arrest, LaBeouf had opened up to Detail Magazine about his struggle with alcohol. The most disturbing part of the article tells how LaBeouf and his father would drink together and smoke together.
The actor, 22, told the magazine “it was just a bad deal” adding “It’s not something that is conducive to being a role model — no iconic actors that I know of have problems like that, and I don’t know how to do it like a gentleman. I don’t know how to have one drink.”
He also talked about a drunken spat that had gotten him arrested at a Chicago Walgreens last November. On this occasion, LaBeouf was charged with criminal trespassing, but the charges were later dropped. “It was two hotheads,” LaBeouf said of the incident. “One completely in the wrong, one who wasn’t enjoying his job that night, going at it about minuscule bulls--t.”
Neither LaBeouf nor Miss Lucas were critically injured in the DUI accident. His rep says that the actor is “currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month.”
