Thursday, May 22, 2008 Sheryl Crow: A Cause Close to the Heart
Speaking on a matter close to the heart, Sheryl Crow testified in front of a congressional hearing at the Rayburn Building in Washington DC on Wednesday (May 21). The 46-year-old breast cancer surviving rocker was there to discuss the Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act, which she’s been more than willing to help out with. “I want to know what causes this disease – for me, and for the 2.3 million others who share this diagnosis,” said Crow as she spoke on behalf of the National Breast Cancer Coalition. “We need more resources to figure out what the environment has to do with [it].” And while many fall victim to this deadly disease, Crow told People magazine that she’s doing quite well since her 2006 diagnosis. “I’m great, as far as I know. I believe I’m cured. I’m really the poster child for early detection,” Crow tells. Enjoy the pictures of Sheryl Crow at yesterday’s Breast Cancer and Environmental Research Act hearing (May 21).
