Shakira To Wed, Penelope A Bridesmaid?

Shakira has finally committed to walking down the aisle with her boyfriend of seven years. It is being reported by The Daily Mirror that the 30-year-old Colombian singer is set to marry Antonio De La Rua, 34, in September.

While we all know what Shakira does for a living, De La Rua is a practicing lawyer and the son of a former Argentine president. According to the report, “the wedding is believed to be taking place at Shakira’s luxury mansion in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.”

And from the looks of things, Penelope Cruz might just be in the process of landing a bridesmaid slot. Spotted out together at John Mayer’s concert afterparty just a week ago, the duo hit the clubs once more on Friday night (June 15).

Now that Penelope’s gal pal Salma Hayek is in the late stages of pregnancy, it comes as little surprise to see Penelope spending time elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Josh Hartnett has been waiting for Penelope in the wings. “He’s frustrated, that’s for sure, because he’d like to see more of her,” a source told Star. “But he understands she has to make movies, and has said he’d wait for her.”

Unfortunately for Josh, it looks like Penelope has opted for time with Shakira, rather than spending her filming hiatus with him.
