Shakira To Try Acting On For Size
You’ve seen her shaking her trademark hips on MTV, VH1 and on stages across the world. Shakira is an explosion of Latino flavor and she knows how to sell records. But it looks like the Columbian-born megastar won’t be making any more music for a little while.
Reportedly, Shakira is looking to take a long break from writing and recording in favor of trying her hand at acting. The sexy singer is in talks with director Mike Nichols to star in an upcoming film.
She was also reported to be signed on to do Alfonso Arau’s “Dare to Love Me.” But as it turned out, she had to back out due to her grueling tour schedule.
With her enormously successful tour now over, Shakira is back in the position to look at her acting aspirations. And she recognizes her need for the right director. “Usually singers are good interpreters, but not good actors,” she told press, “so you need to get with a good actors’ director. I would have to if the day comes when I do acting.”
