Thursday, March 15, 2007 Sandra Bullock’s Confusing “Premonition”
Sandra Bullock stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote her new movie, Premonition, with her handsome co-star Julian McMahon in tow. During the visit, Sandra hit Ellen over the head with a prop glass bottle to get back at Ellen for smacking her on the head back in November.
On to the movie… In the thriller-suspense flick, Premonition, Bullock plays Linda Hanson, a bored housewife whose reality gets turned on its head. Linda is plagued with visions that her husband Jim Hanson (Julian McMahon) will suffer a terrible accident and wind up dead, or worse, already is dead.
Linda lives in a turbulent, translucent world as she battles her husband’s fate on a daily basis. One morning he is eating breakfast in the kitchen and the next he has been the victim of a brutal car crash, and vice versa. One day he is dead, and the next, he is alive. The plot is complicated and has numerous twists as the main character (Linda) regularly struggles with odd clues, due to the lapses of time in her world. It seems her husband may be sleeping with someone at work, or perhaps all of it is a figment of her imagination, as a result of the strange lithium bottle she found at her house. Although the movie isn’t exactly original or coherent, one bright spot is that Sandra Bullock is now making movies outside of the romantic comedy genre. Since she was quoted as saying “I’m a romantic-comicaholic in need of an intervention,” the star has popped up in a number of dramas, including Crash, Infamous, and Loverboy.
If you love Sanda, Julian, or both, go check out Premonition in theaters tomorrow, March 16th.
