Russell Brand Pulls Plug on BBC Radio Two

He made a huge splash into American popular culture with his role in the hit film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” followed up with a hosting gig on this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.  But earlier this week, Russell Brand may have taken things too far on his BBC Radio show.

The actor/deejay reportedly left “lewd messages” on 78-year-old actor Andrew Sachs’ voicemail regarding Sachs’ granddaughter Georgina Baillie, whom Brand once dated.  Then he played the messages on the air.

Due to the 18,000+ complaints received by the BBC, Russell was indefinitely suspended, along with his partner in crime Jonathan Ross.  And yesterday Brand was spotted leaving his agent John Noel’s office after recording an interview in which he resigned from his BBC Radio Two show.

Earlier today, Russell was spotted leaving his North London home along with fellow comedian David Walliams, looking a bit downtrodden as a result of the whole ordeal.
He told press, “I am sorry that I upset Mr. Sachs.  It would be silly of me to speak without thinking, because that’s caused all this trouble in the first place.”
