Sunday, November 08, 2009 Robert Pattinson Talks Romance, Edward Cullen
Hot on the “New Moon” promotional trail as of late, Robert Pattinson kicked off the weekend with an appearance at the “Twilight Saga: New Moon” cast tour at Hollywood & Highland on Friday night (November 6). During the publicity outing, the Edward Cullen actor chatted with People magazine about everything from his personal dating style to likenesses between his “Twilight” character and himself. Talking about his own non-romantic nature, Pattinson tells, “I can’t think of a single romantic thing that I’ve ever done. I would never serenade someone to be romantic – you have to have so much balls to do that. I put a flower in someone’s locker when I was 15 years old, this girl called Maria. She thought that it was someone else and the other guy claimed it as well, which is great.” As for onscreen romance, the 23-year-old is all for it, saying, “It’s like saying guys can’t appreciate romance. I’ve watched Titanic and I didn’t think, ‘Oh, this is a girl’s film.’ I felt like the storyline in New Moon is very heartbreaking and true. I didn’t think I was doing something just for the sake of romance.” Comparing Edward Cullen to himself, Robert explains, “I get quite obsessive about things, and possessive as well. I have very, very specific ideas about how I want to do my work and how I want to be perceived, to the point of ridiculousness sometimes.” Enjoy the pictures of Robert Pattinson out at Hollywood & Highland (November 6).
