Private Memorial Held For Heath Ledger
With his remains already being flown out of New York City to Los Angeles, an intimate memorial for Heath Ledger was held in the City of Angels on Saturday night.
The ceremony, which was attended by immediate family and close friends including former girlfriend Naomi Watts, was a “discreet 30-minute service held at Westwood Village Memorial Park.”
People reports continue: “Around 8 p.m. that evening, a small gathering of black-dressed mourners, including Watts, was seen in the lobby of the Beverly Hills Hotel for a private event. Ledger’s rep had said that no public memorial was planned for Los Angeles.”
Meanwhile, earlier in the day in New York, about 1,000 guests attending a memorial event were read a message from Ledger’s father, Kim Ledger, by Australia’s consul-general.
The message read: “Heath did not become an actor for the fame or fortune. He loved his craft and he loved helping his friends. He loved chess and skateboarding too. My image of Heath in New York is him with his skateboard, a canvas bag and his beanie. That was Heath to me.”
From this point, Ledger’s body is to be flown to Australia where a memorial and burial in Ledger’s hometown of Perth are expected.

I wish there was a way to turn back the clock Heath…and stop this from happening… One of the most talented and promising actors… so many images left unseen, so many emotions left to portray. And on top of it all, you seemed to be a genuine, nice and real person…
You won my heart…talent is a most splendorous thing.My heart sunk when I first heard you were gone… And it sinks everytime I think of you… I just shake my head in sadness and disbelief…
I can´t take your face out of my mind Heath, and Gustavo Santaolalla’s “The Wings” from Brokeback’s soundtrack is playing in my head and won’t stop…Probably because it’s so sad, and so beautiful, and it reminds me of you…
Rest in peace, Heath.
This is just me, one who never met you but now feels as if she lost a very dear and close, special friend, saying goodbye..You’ll forever be up there with the greats to me Heath..
It’s really hard letting you go

I love Heath. Love his passion on film “Brokeback Mountain”. Cannot find such talented and good-looking, young actor any more!! May Heath rest in peace. His charm and kind heart will keep inside our heart.
