Princess Diana Tribute Concert Brings Out The Stars

If you happened to be in England this past weekend, you may have noticed a huge freaking concert going on at Wembley Stadium. It was all to honor the late Princess Diana, and her two princes were among the spectators celebrating her life.

Well-known Diana friend Elton John opened the whole shindig with a rousing rendition of “Your Song” followed by a personal greeting from Princes William and Harry. The 70,000 fans in attendance, and the over 500 million people watching worldwide, were ready to rock.

"This evening is about all that my mother loved in life: her music, her charity and her family and friends,” announced Prince William. Prince Harry added a message to his army unit in Iraq. “I would also like to take this opportunity to say hi to all the guys in A Squadron of the Household Cavalry, who are serving out in Iraq at the moment. I wish I was there with you. I’m sorry I can’t be. But to all of those on operations at the moment, we’d both like to say ‘Stay safe.“‘

The mega concert featured 24 performers, including Tom Jones, Kanye West, Joss Stone, Fergie, Diddy, and Lily Allen. “Ten years ago Princess Diana, she went to a better place, and today we celebrate her rebirth,” Combs said. “I love you Diana, we miss you.”

The $90 tickets were well worth it, according to everyone in attendance. It was a time when both common folk and celebrity alike came together to honor the memory of Princess Diana… just as she would have wanted it.
