Friday, March 13, 2009 Prince William Remembers Princess Diana
It was almost a decade ago when the world mourned the sudden death of Princess Diana, and son, William, recently opened up about the continuing heart ache. Prince William, 26, has taken on a new responsibility as the royal patron of the Child Bereavement Charity, to which Diana was closely linked to through her life.
With Mother’s Day marked in the U.K. later this month, the charity, which launched in 1994, is hoping that a new campaign will raise awareness of the needs faced by those who have lost a child. At a recent event for this charity, the Prince addressed families saying, “Losing a close family member is one of the hardest experiences anyone can endure.” He added, “I can therefore wholeheartedly relate to the Mother’s Day campaign, as I too have felt and still feel the emptiness on such a day as Mother’s Day.”
