Pete Wentz Sets The Record Straight

With all of the collaborations going on in the music world, it’s hard to keep track of who’s working with whom. And Pete Wentz is trying to make sure that things don’t get too mixed up.

Wentz’s girlfriend Ashlee Simpson was said to have worked on a track with Fall Out Boy, but Pete says that isn’t the case. FOB’s singer Patrick Stump was rumored to have worked on a song with Simpson that was written by Cobra Sharship’s Victoria Asher.

But according to Pete, “The story isn’t true...someone got a bit off base in the communication. Ash didn’t work on it and neither did Patrick. I have no idea what the deal is, but they both told me they hadn’t worked on it.”

The explanation? According to Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta, “I think what happened is that she (Victoria) didn’t want to leave anyone without credit. I really don’t know anything about (Patrick) supposedly recording bass and drums on the song. I also don’t know if Ashlee helped her with the lyrics...I’m sure Victoria passed some stuff by her, but that’s all I know.”
