Penelope Cruz: Upset with Engagement News
Following reports that she’s getting ready to wed, Penelope Cruz was hoping to keep her engagement on the down low, but now finds herself furious that the news about the engagement to Javier Bardem got out.
According to insiders, the couple will be walking down the aisle, but are keeping their nuptials behind closed doors away from the media.
“They tried to keep it very private and quiet,” a source said.
The Spanish actors started dating in 2007, but first met in 1992 during the filming of Jamon, Jamon.
The 35 year-old actress recently hinted that she was ready to settle down, telling press: “I want to have babies one day but not right now. When I do it I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life. I don’t know if I believe in marriage. I believe in family, love and children. I have a tendency to become a mother to everyone around me. My brother and sister are always complaining that I’m too protective.”
And it sounds like she adores the possibly daddy-to-be-someday, adding that, “He’s a wonderful man, a great actor.”
