Penelope Cruz Promotes “Broken Embraces”
Enjoying a lovely Friday in Madrid, Penelope Cruz joined director Pedro Almodovar and actress Blanca Portillo at a photocall for their new movie “Broken Embraces”.
Press reports tell that Cruz has been busily rehearsing in Spain for months for her role in the drama/thriller - which is just now beginning filming.
In Broken Embraces, a “bewigged Cruz will play a would-be actress from Spain’s provinces who is pursued by an unscrupulous financier.”
“I’m not sure that the film is going to be good, but for me the important thing is to be excited by it,” Almodovar said at today’s news conference.
And from all of the kissing and laughing going on between the three - it looks like there’s a lot to be excited about!

Just saw these 7 exclusive hi-res scenes of Pedro Almodovar’s new film ‘Broken Embraces’ starring Penelope Cruz. The talk is she’ll be nominated again for another Oscar, this time as a lead actress. Awesome!
