Paula Abdul Quits Over Money
As more details begin to emerge, it is now being reported that Paula Abdul demanded a substantial raise, and resigned when she couldn’t get it.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the 47-year-old asked for about $20 million to continue with the show, but was only being offered $10 million.
The Times is reporting that she “felt unappreciated” in recent months and especially now after Ryan Seacrest signed a three-year $45 million dollar deal.
Speaking of Seacrest, on his radio show this morning (August 5), of Abdul’s leaving he said, “As far as I know, it’s real. Obviously, she has her reasons for doing it, and if she didn’t feel like she was getting what she needed, then I understand that, too.”
