Tuesday, September 04, 2007 Owen Wilson: “Doing Very Well”
In the aftermath of his shocking suicide attempt, there are reports that Owen Wilson is making a full recovery and shows promise to get back on his feet soon. At the Venice Film Festival this past weekend, director Wes Anderson told reporters that the Butterscotch Stallion has regained his sense of humor. “Obviously he has been through a lot this week. I can tell you he has been doing very well, he has been making us laugh.’’ Anderson also noted that Wilson greatly desires his privacy to be respected. “When he is ready he’s going to speak for himself much better than any of us could.’’ And in light of the situation, privacy is crucial to making Owen feel like he can emerge from this tragedy and move on.
Wes Anderson was in Venice promoting “The Darjeeling Limited,” a film that he directed that also stars Wilson. He’s also worked with the Starsky and Hutch star in “The Royal Tenenbaums” and “Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.”
