Nicole Richie Makes Big Commitments
Nicole Richie has been one busy girl as of late. Following Christina Aguilera’s lead, the pregnant Simple Life star was spotted taking a much needed lunch break on Friday at celebrity favorite Joan’s On Third.
First off, rumors are swirling that Richie and her rockstar boyfriend Joel Madden have finally set a wedding date.
Going against claims that the nuptials would take place after the birth of their baby, the latest reports tell that Madden and Richie are gearing up for an October 13th ceremony in Laguna, California.
And to ensure that she’s focused once her child is born, Nicole recently enrolled in an 18-month anti-drinking program, according to press reports released this past Friday.
The program is for “people who have been convicted of DUI of alcohol or drugs on more than one occasion within a 7 year period,” says the Santa Barbara Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.
In signing up, Richie will have to undergo 52 hours of group counseling, biweekly face-to-face interviews and 12 hours of alcohol education.
