Nicole Richie Goes To Jail… For 82 Minutes

Earlier this summer, Nicole Richie told Diane Sawyer that she was going to jail as, “my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult.” So, for 82 minutes yesterday, Nicole Richie was an adult.

The initial sentence for her DUI conviction was four days.  However due to overcrowding, the Simple Life star was released less than two hours after she was put in jail.

Richie showed up at the jail around 3:15 pm yesterday, and was released at 4:37pm… yesterday.  I’ve sat through movies that last longer than her jail sentence.  And through it all, Nicole was said to be a model inmate.

“Miss Richie was cooperative during the process,” said a statement released by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. She was, “treated in the same manner as other inmates with a similar sentence.” And I’m sure her name and notoriety had nothing to do with it.

Enjoy the pictures of Nicole and boyfriend Joel Madden going to the vet’s office just hours before heading to jail (August 23), along with shots from LA Conversation the previous day.
