Nicole Kidman & Naomi Watts Spark Pregnancy Rumors

When it comes to gossip, it doesn’t get much better than speculating as to whether or not a celebrity is pregnant. With that in mind, you should be especially excited because we have not only one, but two possible mama’s in the making… fellow Aussie actresses Naomi Watts and Nicole Kidman.

Pregnancy rumors swirled around Watts and Kidman as the two walked the red carpet together at the Academy Awards.

The longtime friends laughed and joked as they navigated their way along the unending line of photographers and journalists.

The design of Naomi’s dress and a reported slip from a fashion publicist have fueled rumors that she is indeed pregnant.

The actress, who has been dating New York-based actor Liev Schreiber for almost two years, wore a lemon colored gown with dropped sleeves.

What had onlookers whispering was the fact that Watts’ gown’s empire waist, combined with a maroon sash below the bust, appeared to be purposefully covering her stomach.

People magazine reported that a representative of Escada, which designed Watts’s Oscar gown, issued a press release reading in part, “The Escada gown set off her most precious new asset - the baby she is expecting with longtime boyfriend Liev Schreiber.”

“Did a fashion publicist just out Naomi Watts as a mom-to-be?” the magazine asked on its website. “What a way to spill the beans on a bump.”

Last week the New York Post quoted unnamed “friends” confirming the pregnancy, while Watts’ rep has refused to comment.

Moving on, The Gossip Girls previously reported that Nickole Kidman added fuel to rumors that she was pregnant last week when, in an interview with Russell Crowe, she told of her desire to be “barefoot and pregnant”.

“Am I going to have a baby? I hope so,” Kidman told Crowe during a special Oprah Oscar special.

At last night’s Academy Awards, Kidman wore a bright red halter neck, form fitting gown with a large bow on the right side of her neck.

In an interview on the red carpet, neither Nicole, nor Naomi, gave any indication one way or the other about being pregnant. Instead, the two playfully joked about their perfect girl’s night.

“Lots of barbecues at home,” Watts said.

Kidman added: “Parties.”

“Yeah, cooking and having friends over,” Watts added.

Barbecues are a family event… which would make sense, that is… if they are pregnant.
