Nick Lachey Stands By Vanessa Minnillo

We’ve all done things we regret, whether it’s random hookups, drinking too much, or posing for pictures while Lindsay Lohan holds a knife to your throat. But most of us haven’t had to answer to the entire world for our indiscretions. The good news is that Nick Lachey is standing firmly by his girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo in the wake of her published party pictures.

From the beginning, Lachey has known Minnillo’s tendencies. “A lot of Nick’s friends were complaining about what a party girl she was,” says a source. “There were many nights in the beginning when Vanessa was a total mess and Nick didn’t know what to do.”

And there was plenty of evidence to prove her wild ways. “Vanessa used to be a completely crazy, wild girl,” confirms a friend of Minnillo. “She’d be the girl that would jump on the tables at every nightclub.”

However, just because the girl has a past, it doesn’t mean she can’t change. Since her relationship with Nick, Vanessa has taken measures to clean it up. “Nick knew when they got together that she had a party-girl past. But the past is the past,” said a friend of the couple.

And that’s just what those pictures were- the past. “(Minnillo) got caught up in the moment and thought it would be fun. It was stupid and she regrets it. They were only fooling around.” After all, they were taken over a year ago.
