Mischa Barton: No Contest
Back in December of 2007, Mischa Barton ran into a bit of legal drama when she was pulled over by police and charged with a DUI. And now she’s facing the music.
According to a plea deal between the O.C. actress and the Beverly Hills court, Barton will plea “No Contest” to the DUI charge, and in turn, receive a lesser sentence for her conviction.
Included in her penalties will be a three-month alcohol education class, as well as a seemingly miniscule $1,700 fine. While it may seem like a slap on the wrist, authorities are hoping that the sentence will be enough to keep Mischa on the straight and narrow. To insure that she stays clean, the court is expected to issue a three-year unsupervised probation term.
Back in January, she went on record as taking full responsibility for her actions, saying that she planned to turn from her wicked ways. “Obviously I’m 100 percent responsible for my actions in this case. I’m really disappointed in myself. I don’t know what to say about it, except that I’m not perfect, and I just don’t ever intend to do something this stupid again.”
