Michelle Williams Returns Home
It’s been a tough couple of days for Michelle Williams. After hearing about her ex-fiancé Heath Ledger’s death on Tuesday, she rushed back to the US, arriving in New York City yesterday.
The “Dawson’s Creek” star was on location in Sweden with her (and Heath’s) daughter Matilda when she was notified of the tragedy. She quickly hopped a plane to return to her Brooklyn home last night.
A source close to Williams reported that upon hearing the news of Ledger’s death, Michelle was “devastated.” They had split last September, but maintained a friendship for the benefit of their two-year-old daughter.
An insider told press, “I can’t believe Matilda is going to grow up without a dad, without knowing her father. And that Michelle will have to deal with having a daughter who’s lost her father. She’s a survivor. She’ll make it, but it’s going to be hard. Her first concern is going to be Matilda.”
