Tuesday, March 27, 2007 Michael Jackson’s Vegas Jacko-Bot
Michael Jackson has considered regularly performing in Las Vegas. And if the ‘King of Pop’ does put in a regular appearance, it seems he would need the help of a fifty foot neon robot created in his own likeness.
According to designers interviewed by the New York Daily News, the massive neon Jackson would be in view of incoming flights and would shoot laser beams into the desert night.
The designer, Andre Van Pier, has been employed by Jackson to make rough plans of the robot and a “stage set featuring a giant audience-interactive video game with human cyborgs controlled by the audience.” “Michael’s looked at the sketches and likes them,” said Michael Luckman, who works with Van Pier at Luckman Van Pier. The giant concept spawned after discussions about Jackson’s future in Vegas. Spokeswoman Raymone Bain confirmed he was “reviewing and evaluating” proposals for future job prospects, including a few on the strip. However, Bain told The New York Daily News that despite living in Nevada City, “He hasn’t made up his mind about whether a Vegas show is in the cards for him… it isn’t a priority.”
The American public might get to see a fifty foot Jacko-bot, or they might just have to settle for past clips of him hanging his baby over a balcony.
