Michael Jackson’s Mother Not Taking Over Estate

In the myriad of details and loose ends to tie up following the tragic death of Michael Jackson, one decision has finally been made- his mother Katherine will not be taking over his estate.

In a hearing in Los Angeles Superior Court this morning, Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled that Jackson’s longtime attorney John Branca and a family friend John McClain will administer the “Beat It” singer’s affairs, at least for now.

Beckloff stated, “Mr. Branca and Mr. McClain are for no- for the next month - at the helm of the ship.” Another hearing will be called in August.

In the meantime, the Staples Center in Los Angeles is prepping up for the massive memorial ceremony to be held tomorrow in honor of Michael Jackson.
