Friday, March 23, 2007 Mel Gibson Tells Prof To “F*** Off”
Mel Gibson has allowed his mouth to get the better of him once more, letting the f bomb fly during a heated press conference. During his latest outburst, Gibson told a Central American Studies assistant professor to “f**k off”, stunning those in attendance. ABC news is reporting that the ultra-successful actor turned producer, “who made headlines last summer for anti-Semitic comments he made during a drunk driving arrest, was addressing a film class at Cal State University at Northridge Thursday night when the professor questioned the accuracy of his film ‘Apocalypto.’” The professor bearing the brunt of Gibson’s anger was Alicia Estrada. Estrada questioned Gibson on whether or not he did any research on the Mayan culture before shooting the controversial film. It is believed that Estrada was suggesting that “some of the bloodthirsty, sacrificial scenes in the film were both wrong and racist,” acccording to ABC. TMZ first broke the story, in which Gibson suddenly exploded in anger, responding, “Lady, f**k off.” “Gibson also became angry when members of the Mayan community protested on how they were portrayed in the film during the lecture. They were escorted out of the room,” insiders revealed. Apparently Gibson’s publicist, Alan Nierob, has already made an attempt to salvage the actor’s reputation. Nierob told TMZ, “This person was a heckler who was rude and disrupted the event, so much so that the event organizers had to escort her out.” Meanwhile, he did not comment on the appropriateness of Gibson’s choice of words… while in a college classroom. As far as I am concerned, Mel hasn’t done anything that he should be ashamed of. Ever since he made the Passion of Christ he has been crucified by the the press. I love that he takes on controversy and still holds his head high. I think the majority still love Mel and to heck with the rest. Posted by on 03/24 at 02:02 PM
IT’S ONLY A MOVIE! She is just using Mel Gibson so she can see her name all over the internet and in the news. Unfortunately, it seems to be working! Now she can go around telling everyone: “I’m the one Mel Gibson told to F-Off: Come over HERE and interview ME now and make ME famous,” (and rich too now, since she’ll most likely claim severe emotional injury in a law suit). You have a choice: Either sit down, shut up and watch the movie, or get up, walk away and let the rest of us watch! If she is going to stick her neck out to try and embarrass someone famous in public, then she needs to accept whatever response she gets. What did she expect? A big hug? Mel Gibson’s movies are regarded across the board to have 100% more historical integrity than the usual effluent pumped out by Hollywood and she was just being disruptive. Gibson is subjected to unfair scrutiny. THERE ARE other versions of the story by audience members which reveal:
A) Gibson was initially very patient with the professor and
