Matt Damon: Marathon Man
All of Matt Damon’s action films have finally paid of, as the actor took part in the Escape to Miami Triathlon on Sunday morning (October 5).
According to reports, the 38-year-old “Bourne Ultimatum” hunk’s brother Kyle, who managed to take 27th place with a time of 2:23:40, talked him into participating in the event.
People’s Sexiest Man Alive ran the event with a team that included his stepfather, Jay Jones, and a family friend Barry Hetherington. Cheering him on at the finish line were his wife Luciana Bozán Barroso, 7-week-old daughter, Gia, as well as some fans that weren’t expecting to see the big star.
Damon’s time at the 6.2 mark was 59 minutes and 54 seconds. “I knew I was in trouble when the old guy with the oxygen tank passed me,” he joked.
Matt mentioned that his motivation for the race came from previously having to put on weight this past summer for a movie role.
“I was doing this movie this summer The Informant where I had to put on all this weight and my brother told me, ‘October 5, save the date.’” In addition, he said, ‘’I’ve got to get in shape for the next thing I’m doing.”
