Mariah Carey Rocks Canadian Idol

Here in the States, we love our American Idol!  And just to our north, the Canadians were celebrating their Canadian Idol season finale with a little help from one of America’s favorite singers - Mariah Carey.

The “Touch My Body” babe looked amazing as she took the stage, sporting a sexy sparkling black minidress teamed with a pair of stiletto high heels.  She sang her disco-esque hit “I’m that Chick” as well as her classic “We Belong Together.”

And at the end of the night, Alberta student Theo Tams was named the new Canadian Idol.  The big-voiced, grand piano-playing crooner was moved to tears when his name was announced, and he gave a very gracious acceptance speech.

“First of all, I just want to say thanks to Mitch (MacDonald, the other finalist). He’s a great guy, he’s become a great friend and I’m going to be first in line to buy his record. Thanks so much.”
