Mariah Carey Aims For Theatrical Redemption

Ready for redemption after her box-office flop “Glitter” seemingly ended her theatrical career seven years ago, Mariah Carey was arm-in-arm with husband Nick Cannon at the 2008 Urban World Film Festival on Friday night (September 12).

The cute couple were in attendance at the AMC 34th Street Theatre as Mariah’s new movie “Tennessee” made its festival premiere.

“Tennessee" centers on two lower-middle class brothers who embark on a journey from New Mexico to Tennessee to find their estranged father-a trip which might hold one’s life in the balance.

And in what must come as refreshing new for Miss Carey, breaking reports tell that Vivendi Entertainment has acquired all domestic rights to the road trip drama - with the group planning on releasing the film into widespread distribution this December.
