Maria Menounos Misses Cut at Volleyball Tourney
She’s been all over the entertainment industry, from gigs on “Access Hollywood” and “Today” to roles on “Fantastic Four” and “One Tree Hill.” But when it comes to Pro Volleyball, Maria Menounos is stuck in the sand.
The Greek hottie, along with her partner Jesse Cooper got their butts kicked in the AVP Huntington Beach Open yesterday, knocking them out of the running for the big tournament.
Of her first shot at the pro circuit, Maria told press, “It went amazing…unfortunately, not that amazing because I didn’t make the team, but I learned a lot from my partner, Jessie, and I had a blast.”
And according to Menounos’ partner, the former TV anchor was all about a hands-on approach to playing the game. Cooper told press, “She fell in the sand, she got down and dirty with it. A few aces thrown in there and a lot of fun and good cheer!”
Despite their bitter loss, Maria may have found a new ambition- becoming a beach bum. “We’re here on the beach, it’s a gorgeous day and there are a lot of beautiful people here. I think I want to give everything up and become a beach bum at this point.”
