Friday, September 07, 2007 Madonna’s Parenting Skills To Be Graded
A visit from the Malawi child welfare services to Madonna’s London pad has been a long time coming. But after several delays, Malawi representative Simon Chisale was spotted leaving the Queen of Pop’s home this past Wednesday. As previously reported by the Gossip Girls, a positive review of the Ray of Light singer’s home is crucial to her securing full custody of 26-month-old adopted child, David Banda. And with several prior visits canceled for political reasons, Madge is sure to be excited in moving the process forward. Controversy seems to have surrounded Madonna’s attempt to adopt young David ever since it became public knowledge, and new rumors have surfaced regarding possible bribery and corruption of Malawi government officials. In a press interview on Monday, Adrina Mchiela, an official with the Malawi social services, claimed that Madonna had been paying tuition and living expenses for a member of the social services studying abroad.
The True Blue songstress has denied that she has used her celebrity status to get special treatment in any way, and her spokeswoman stated there had been “absolutely no interference” with government officials and “no use of Madonna’s ‘celebrity’” to speed up the adoption process.
