Madonna Wins David Banda Custody Case

While her “Me Against the Music” co-star Britney Spears is floundering in her custody case, Madonna is celebrating a victory in her own court battle over Malawian orphan David Banda.

The Material Girl was spotted leaving Cipriani restaurant in the Mayfair district of London last night, and the smile on her face was indicative of her happiness over the Malawi government’s decision.

A Malawi official told press, “Mrs. Ritchie presents a confident and able parent. There are clear indications that David is becoming a happy, secure toddler.  It is in the best interest of the child to remain in her care.”

And it has been a long road for Madge.  Back in October of 2006, she began the process of adopting David, and was granted temporary foster care.  Then, this past September, she was visited by Malawi adoption officials who determined that she is a fit mother.
