Madonna and James Blunt’s Live Earth Concert

This summer, music fans and environmentalists alike have something to cheer about. The world’s biggest names in the music industry are prepping to help save the planet in a series of concerts around the world. Madonnna and James Blunt are two of the names among the many acts expected to perform at the Live Earth concert in London on July 7, in hopes of raising awareness of climate change and the dangers it poses.

According to Hello! magazine, other acts performing at the new Wembley Stadium include the Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Corinne Bailey Rae, Genesis and Duran Duran. The format is similar to the Live 8 concerts held in 2005, with Live Earth events also slated to be held in Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, unnamed US cities, Shanghai, Johannesburg and Sydney.

"By attracting an audience of millions we hope Live Earth will launch a global campaign giving a critical mass of people around the world the tools they need to help solve the climate crisis,” former US VP Al Gore, said.

Those hoping to attend the London event can register for tickets on www.livenation.co.uk/earth between April 13 and 16. Tickets will be allocated in a lottery type scheme. The other sites have not yet released ticket info, but we’ll provide it as soon as available.
