Madonna and Guy Granted “Quickie Divorce”
Now that they’ve reached a settlement, Madonna and Guy Ritchie have been granted a preliminary ‘quickie divorce’ per proceedings in the High Court of London earlier today (November 21).
People magazine reports that the “Papa Don’t Preach” songstress and her director soon-to-be-ex-husband were granted the motion, though neither of them actually appeared in court this morning.
As a result, in six weeks and one day, Madge and Guy will officially have their marriage dissolved, given that neither have issued any disputes in the matter.
Guy told press, “It was never about money – never about her bloody art collection. I just wanted to settle it and move on. I didn’t raise any objections at any stage until she insisted the children lived permanently in New York.” Now the arrangement has David and Rocco splitting their time between New York and London, while Lourdes will live with her mother.
