Friday, July 13, 2007 Lindsay Lohan: Following Machiavelli To The Academy
After being charged with driving under the influence following a Beverly Hills car crash, Lindsay Lohan vowed to change her ways. And with over a month of rehab under her belt, the Mean Girls star has found herself driven to succeed as an actress and following the advice of a book considered to be the “ultimate in political cynicism” as a means of getting to the top. Lindsay recently told press, “Look, I want to win Oscars. I want Academy Awards. I am serious about what I do. I detest being known as a party girl.” During her transformation from party girl into a serious actress, LiLo has found herself using The Prince, by Niccolo Machiavelli, as a self-help guide. “I was going out with someone and they said I should read Machiavelli and I was like, ‘Nah,’ and then I was, ‘OK, I’ll read it,’ and now it is always with me,” Lohan informed Tattler magazine. Whether or not LiLo’s newfound love for Machiavelli is a good thing is still up for debate, but at least she hasn’t run into any curbs lately. Enjoy the photos of Lindsay leaving brunch at Geoffrey’s in Malibu (July 10), as well as leaving an AA meeting the following day.
