Tuesday, February 24, 2009 Lil’ Wayne Faces the Music
Though he’s had overwhelming professional success, it seems things are a bit complicated for Lil’ Wayne, and he was spotted leaving a Manhattan criminal court this morning after appearing before the judge. The “Mrs. Officer” Grammy-winner was dealing with a gun charge, and he’ll have to be back in court on April 20th to begin his trial. In related legal news, it seems Wayne has been slapped with a $1.3 million lawsuit by Ed Strickland, a concert promoter in Rochester, New York. Apparrently Lil’ Wayne canceled three gigs at the Blue Cross Area, leaving Strickland high and dry. He told press, “This is a business. I have a commitment to my investors, the public. A lot of money — TV, radio, print — went to make this thing happen.” Below are pictures of L’il Wayne out for his court hearing this morning (February 24).
