Wednesday, October 14, 2009 Leona Lewis: Attacked at Book Signing
The latest victim of a crazed fan, Leona Lewis was attacked today (October 14) while signing copies of her new book “Dreams” at Waterstones bookstore in London. The “Bleeding Love” songstress was busy mingling with her fans at the Piccadilly Circus-area store when the fracas occurred, with police being called to the scene immediately. Waterstones bookstore released a statement, saying, “There was an incident at our signing this afternoon and the event was immediately stopped. We are now doing everything we can to support the police in their enquiries. We take security at our book signings extremely seriously and this is the first time anything of this nature has happened. We would like to thank Leona for her professionalism and we are extremely sad that this event was ruined for her, and her fans, many of whom queued from the early hours of the morning to meet her.” Thankfully, Leona didn’t require any hospitalization, and was seen leaving the store crying with a pair of sunglasses covering her face.
