Legally Blonde Musical Hits MTV

For those of you crazy kids that can’t get enough High School Musical, there may be a reprieve.  MTV is planning to air a taping of the Broadway musical “Legally Blonde” and we couldn’t be more excited.

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of a trip to New York City, there is a theater district on Broadway that is a hotbed for stage shows.  Legally Blonde is a $10 million production, and they’re hoping that by airing it on MTV, that more people will get excited about the show.

A source told press, “This is all about promoting the show for the long term. Actors are always complaining that they don’t make enough money for this or that. But the longer the show runs, the more money everybody makes.”

And due to slowing ticket sales, the producers of the show are banking on MTV’s ability to reach their demographic.  “Their target audience and our target audience are exactly the same. It’s a complete overlap,” said an insider.
