Ledger Family Leaves For “Dark Knight” Premiere
It’s a tragedy that still eerily lingers within the entertainment industry. And six months after his tragic death, Heath Ledger’s parents are getting ready to celebrate his role in “The Dark Knight.”
Kim Ledger, along with his wife and daughter were spotted at the Sydney airport earlier today on their way to America for the New York City premiere of their late son’s film on July 14th.
Heath’s castmates have been raving in the press about his portrayal of The Joker. Christian Bale (who plays BatMan) said, “He’s created an iconic villain unlike I’ve seen before. When he was in the make-up and clothes he was joker nonstop, when he took it off he was great company.”
Aaron Eckhart added, “I was in awe of him. And, as another actor, that doesn’t happen all the time. And when you’re seeing it, you’re with it, it’s pretty special, and you don’t want to take that for granted.”
As for the Oscar buzz Heath has been posthumously receiving, director Christopher Nolan commented, “You could tell immediately, really right from the first wardrobe and make up test, and so forth. It was very apparent that what he was doing was absolutely unique and absolutely extraordinary.”
