2009 People’s Choice Awards: The Show, The Winners

Making for quite the spectacular evening, the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards saw “The Dark Knight” pull off a clean sweep, raking in all five awards for which it was nominated.

Held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, the star-studded affair also saw performer Carrie Underwood grab three awards while Katherine Heigl, Reese Witherspoon, Christina Applegate and Robin Williams all went home winners, as well.

Beyonce Knowles: “Notorious” in NYC

Back in the States following a romantic holiday getaway in the Caribbean, Beyonce Knowles took to the red carpet for the New York City premiere of “Notorious” on Wednesday night (January 7).

The “Sasha Fiecre” sweetheart looked ever-so-glam, a movie telling the life and death story of famous rap artist Notorious B.I.G.


In related news, it was just announced earlier today the Beyonce has earned a nomination in the outstanding female music artist category and for best music video.

To top it all off, she’s also in the running against sentimental favorite Jennifer Hudson for beast actress for her work on “Cadillac Records.”

People’s Choice Awards Arrivals

As afternoon turned to evening, there was a definite buzz in the air around the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, as a bevy of celebrities began to arrive at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards.

This year’s awards once again will honor the best in entertainment as voted on by the public, rather than an industry jury.  And the celebrity presence is sure to be overwhelming.


With Queen Latifah handling the hosting duties, and performances by acts like Carrie Underwood and Rascal Flatts, the audience is in for a real treat. 

And as stars like Debra Messing, Teri Hatcher, Lori Laughlin, Hugh Laurie, David Boreanaz and Jewel arrive, the PCAs is definitely living up to its star-studded reputation.

AnnaLynne McCord, Jessica Stroup: Red Carpet Beauties

Adding a little sexiness to the red carpet, AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Stroup greeted fans at the Shrine Auditorium on Wednesday night (January 7).

On hand for the 2009 People’s Choice Awards, the “90210” hotties playfully posed for the cameras while mingling with fellow guests.



In related news, AnnaLynne and Jessica look to be getting a new co-star, as Tori Spelling is reportedly bringing back her character of Donna Martin.

According to an inside source, Spelling has finally stuck a deal with the show’s producers to begin filming episodes, the first of which will shoot later this month, and will be directed by another “Beverly Hills 90210” alum, Jason Priestly.

Paris Hilton Makes it a People’s Choice Night

Not one to miss out on a red carpet opportunity, Paris Hilton was spotted hamming it up as she arrived for the 2009 People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday (January 7).

Held at the Shrine Auditorium, the former “Simple Life” starlet was on-hand for the night’s ceremony just following a recent trip to Australia for New Year’s.


On a sour note, it was just announced that Miss Hilton is up for a Worst Actress for her work on the film “The Hottie and the Nottie” at the annual Razzie Awards.

The film is also up for Worst Picture, with the big losers being announced at the Barnsdall Gallery Theater on February 21.

Jennie Garth’s People’s Choice Arrival

She’s had some serious career longevity, and earlier this evening Jennie Garth showed up at the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The “90210” hottie worked it like a pro on the red carpet outside the Shrine Auditorium, sporting a simple-yet-sexy black dress with black open-toed heels and a black clutch.


And it sounds like Jennie’s character Kelly Taylor will finally be reunited with her old West Beverly partner-in-crime Donna Martin when Tori Spelling joins the cast of the hit CW show.

Dakota Fanning: People’s Choice Red Carpet

Looking brilliant in blue, Dakota Fanning took to the red carpet for the 35th Annual People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening (January 7).

The “Secret Life of Bees” babe offered up a smile on the red carpet outside the Shrine Auditorium before making her way inside to enjoy the night’s show.


Meanwhile, at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards last night, Fanning told Us magazine that she’s been lending a shoulder to co-star Jennifer Hudson, sayin, “I have spoken to her. I have been in contact with her.”

She also added sympathy to the star saying, “I can’t imagine what she is going through, but she knows the whole cast is there for her, and I lover her.”

Carrie Underwood: People’s Choice Cutie

She’s no stranger to awards shows, and earlier this evening Carrie Underwood arrived at the People’s Choice Awards looking like a seasoned pro.

The “Jesus Take the Wheel” songstress posed for the paparazzi outside the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles in a stunning strapless Zuhair Murad gown.


And tonight is a big night for Miss Underwood, as she’s up for two awards (Favorite Female Singer and Favorite Country Song), and she’s performing as well.

Other country artists representing their genre tonight include nominees Kenny Chesney, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, and nominees/performers Rascal Flatts.

Lindsay Lohan: Solo Shopping

Out all by her lonesome, Lindsay Lohan was spotted doing some retail therapy at the Burberry boutique in Beverly Hills, California earlier today (January 7th).

The “I Know Who Killed Me” actress looked a bit glum as she meandered down the street, sporting a black jacket, white top, grey trousers, and black heels.


And according to TMZ we’ll be seeing much more of LiLo going solo, as she’s reportedly moved out of Samantha Ronson’s house following an official breakup.

According to the report, Lindsay is now staying with her manager Jen while she tries to work things out with her now-ex-girlfriend.  However, the way these two go back and forth, it’s very likely they’ll get back together before too long.

Shenae Grimes: Coffee Chick

Giving herself a little extra boost to get through the day, Shenae Grimes was spotted out for some coffee at Urth Caffe in Los Angeles this afternoon (January 7).

The “90210” hottie looked to be taking her fashion cues from the Olsen twins, sporting a baggy grey sweater and some loose-fitting black velour pants along with an oversized scarf and massive shades.


Speaking of “90210,” it sounds like we’ll finally be seeing Tori Spelling reprise her role of Donna Martin on the new CW incarnation of the classic ‘90s drama.

Back in August, rumors ran rampant that Spelling was set to return, but contract negotiations never ended up working out.  This time around things are looking more promising, says an inside source.  Her debut episode is slated to shoot later this month, with Jason Priestly in the director’s chair.
