It’s not every day that a girl gets to wear $1 million worth of Swarovski crystals on a Dolce & Gabbana gown. But Kylie Minogue wore it well at the world premiere of her documentary “White Diamonds."
“Diamonds” is the two-hour saga of the Aussie singer’s battle back to normalcy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. And during the film, Minogue was either in stitches or tears.
Also in attendance were Kylie’s “gay husband” William Baker and her little sis Dannii. The event took place in London’s Leicester Square. Dannii said, “I'm so proud of her. I'm so happy she's able to work again — it makes her who she is.”
Apparently, Kylie wasn’t too keen on the project from the get-go. She told the audience, “It wasn't my idea, it was William Baker's. I canned it five times before this. I was hoodwinked basically because I really tried to get out of it.”
Minogue continued, “ But he said, 'This is who you are and we all love you for who you are'. There was a time when I'd been stripped of everything and depended on nothing, and I felt like I had everything in terms of love and support, and I think that had a lot to do with me agreeing to this.”
“White Diamonds" will be in limited release in theaters before releasing on DVD.
