Katie Holmes: Beautiful in the Big Apple
Out for the first time since the death of her brother-in-law, Katie Holmes attended the Independent Feature Project 30th Year Celebration at the Cooper Square Hotel in New York City on Sunday (April 26).
Looking oh-so-elegant in an all black ensemble, the “Mad Money” beauty was the host for the evening’s festivities.
According to the organization’s Web site, IFP works “to produce programs that assist independent filmmakers in connecting with film industry professionals and ultimately, connecting to audiences.”
The trip to New York City follows a stop in Katie’s hometown of Toledo, Ohio, where she attended the funeral of her sister’s husband, who passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 48.

i strongly believe its not her first time out since the death of her brother in-law, he died on easter sunday,she was photogragped coming out of a dance studio on Monday (i believe u’ve got those pics on this site)two days later she was at VB’s dinner party,she had a party for her daughter on her birthday also was pictured throwing a second party a day before his funeral, and she allegedly didn’t attend the burial but her CAPTOR/husband did. So don’t try to butter us up with the “Out for the first time since the death of her brother-in-law” she wasn’t mourning him, but how could she when she’s got her own life to mourn
