Katherine Heigl Wants To Produce

There’s a growing trend in Hollywood of celebrities trading their time on screen for time behind the camera.  And Katherine Heigl is planning to join the likes of Drew Barrymore, Will Smith, and Johnny Depp as a production company entrepreneur.

The Grey’s Anatomy star and her momager are said to be in the process of starting their own company.  They’re already talking about their first film, and Heigl is set to be the star.

The Knocked Up actress will take the lead in the first action/comedy from her production house, and FOX has already expressed interest in making the film.

Hopefully this venture is more about Heigl getting a chance to spread her creative wings as a producer and less about setting herself up for a bunch of starring roles.
