Katherine Heigl: Taking Time Off

Earlier this year she adopted a baby girl from South Korea, and Katherine Heigl has just announced she’ll be taking time off of her “Grey’s Anatomy” gig to spend time with her little one.

The “Ugly Truth” actress has been a mother to Naleigh since September when she and husband Josh Kelley brought the special needs baby home.

And an insider told press, “Sources confirm to me exclusively that she’s taking another leave of absence from Grey’s — but this time her reasons are personal, not professional. Heigl will be going on a belated maternity leave to spend some QT with new daughter Naleigh.”

As a result, Katherine’s character Izzie will be absent from a number of episodes of the hit ABC drama beginning in early 2010.
