Monday, September 17, 2007 Kanye West and Rainn Wilson’s Emmy Rap
Fresh off the heels of last week’s hissy fit at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West took it upon himself to grace the Emmys stage last night. And, for a change, he decided to embrace some self-effacing humor. West is known for creating drama at awards shows. In the past, he’s been said to throw temper tantrums and run his mouth after not winning awards. But last night we saw a different side of the rapper. Kanye joined “The Office’s” Rainn Wilson in a mock game of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics!” They were asked to finish a line from West’s song “Stronger.” The “Jesus Walks” rapper went first, saying, “That’s how long I’ve been on you.” But Rainn emerged victorious citing the real lyrics, “That’s how long I’ve been on YA.”
Poking fun at himself, Kanye replied, “I never win,” referring to his meltdown at the MTV VMA’s last week.
