Justin Timberlake’s Tennman Record Label

In the days of franchising music stars, Justin Timberlake isn’t one to be outdone.  The SexyBack singer is setting out on a new voyage - record label ownership.

The LA based label, Tennman, will be under the umbrella of Interscope Records, with Timberlake serving as chairman and CEO.  This is interesting, because currently Justin is signed with Jive/Sony BMG.  The new label will be with rival Universal Music Group.

And it sounds like Justin has a lot to offer right from the start.  “We are all excited about the talent we have to offer already on our roster, and I cannot wait to introduce the world to my new discoveries,” Timberlake told press.

Interscope Chairman/CEO Jimmy Levine said: “Whenever you have the opportunity to get into business with someone as gifted as Justin Timberlake, you take it. We are thrilled to have his label as part of Interscope.”

According to Tennman President Ken Komisar, the former A+R Vice President of Sony BMG Music Entertainment, “We are already underway with several artists in development, and look forward to sharing their work with music fans everywhere.”
